Very easy to install, however one of the struts is "stiffer" than the other, causing one side of the hood to rise quicker than the other. Conversely, more resistance is felt on that same side when closing the hood. I informed Redline about this abnormality; no replacement strut was offered. In other words, their warranty apparently doesn't mean much.

Very easy to install; only took 10 minutes. The hood lift struts look factory.

10 minute install on 2023 CX5 Carbon Edition, and Bingo! Hood struts! Just needed a minute's help to hold the hood up while I snapped on the struts. Stiff on first closing, then fine.

So much easier now, definitely beats the prop rod. Easy installation.
Now I need to do the same for my MX5 !

Lifts are made with quality materials. The only issue I have with them is they are a little too stiff and closing the hood takes considerable effort. I'm going to remove one to see how that works. Other than that, I would definitely buy them again.
